About Taylor Leigh Aguilar
Taylor Leigh Aguilar is a director, producer, and writer from Pueblo, Colorado. In the summer of 2020, she completely lost her vision while she was attending film school and took a leave of absence to attend the Colorado Center for The Blind. Though the experience was traumatic and completely changed Taylor’s way of life, she continued to pursue her dream career of being a filmmaker.
She finished her film degree at Loyola Marymount University and filmed her thesis short film less than a year after losing her vision. She has since directed and produced three short films, two of which are currently in post production. Taylor has become an advocate for the blind community to enjoy films the same way others do.
Taylor was accepted into the American Pavilion Student Program at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival where she discussed the concern of the lack of accessibility for the blind in the moviegoing experience. In the summer of 2023, Taylor reimagined how to tell visual stories and started The Blind Movement Podcast, where guests share the ways they follow their passions, travel the world, and do things they never thought they could.
She is actively seeking funding to turn the concept into a feature documentary or docuseries.
